Creating Canopies at the Oaks
April 21 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pmFree
Join Greater Sydney Landcare Network for a day of tree planting in the Upper Spring Creek Landcare area! We are creating habitat mosaics expanding from surrounding remnant bushland and intend to create cooler areas for the soil, plants and animals that live in the space. The revegetated patch will provide an important wildlife corridor for small birds, microbats, and other native animals to travel through the landscape. It will also help in the conservation of Moist Shale Woodland and Western Sydney Dry Rainforest communities.
On-site training, tools, and refreshments will be provided.
Please wear long sleeves, long pants, closed sturdy shoes and a hat / sunscreen, and bring at least 2 litres of drinking water. Also, please bring your own gardening gloves for COVID-19 safety considerations.
RSVPS are essential. Due to COVID-19 the number of participants for this event is restricted, so to avoid disappointment register ASAP.
Instructions on parking and exact meeting point will be provided to those who have registered. You will need to provide your own transportation to the site.
For insurance purposes you must be accompanied by an adult if you are under 16 years old.
Following the planting event there will be a workshop on the survival and support of Western Sydney Dry Rainforest. Please register your attendance for both events
