Get Your Hands Dirty for Koalas

May 22 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free
Get your hands dirty to help restore and protect a local haven for rare ecosystems and wildlife!
This event intends to give young people aged 18 to 30-something the opportunity to be get involved in habitat restoration in North-west Sydney and be mentored by like-minded people with experience and local knowledge. We’ll be removing some nasty weeds that have overtaken the bushland and recording the flora and fauna species we see.
A bush regeneration expert will be there to guide you and help with identifying weeds from natives and Little Wheeny Landcare Members will be there to mentor and share their knowledge with you.
No skills required, all training and tools will be provided on the day. Lunch will be provided.
About the property:
This property is part of the Little Wheeny Landcare group, 13 landholders who have come together to regenerate and restore a koala corridor and Western Sydney Dry Rainforest across their properties.
This event is supported by the Federal Government through a Communities Environment Program grant and is run as part of the National Landcare Program with support from Hawkesbury River County Council.
