GSLN Annual General Meeting plus special presentations including Koala recovery after last seasons firestorm
November 8 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pmFree
You are invited to Greater Sydney Landcare Network’s Annual General Meeting for 2020…
This year we will have special guest speaker Dr Kellie Leigh, from Science for Wildlife. She did an amazing job rescuing Koalas from the recent horrific fires in the Blue Mountains, providing them refuge in Taronga Zoo and then releasing them when it was safe to do so. Now Kellie is monitoring them with volunteers to track if they survived life in a burnt landscape.
Additionally, the Community Environment Network will present on their Land for Wildlife program, Coastal open spaces and Waterwatch in the Central Coast.
Plus, Cattai Hills Environment Network will be presenting on their eDNA Platypus research, and the species confirmed presence in the Hills district of Sydney.
Finally, we will have updates on our Creating Canopies project, Streamwatch, young adult engagement, sustainable agriculture workshops and Landcare SOS.
With Covid you will have the option of attending the AGM in person or joining by Zoom (link to follow with registrations). The venue will be at Sydney Olympic Park however, with a yummy brunch – and, guided walk (TBC) after the official meeting.
Please note Covid limits will mean that attendance at the venue will be first in first served. Zoom links will also be provided to those registrations beyond our covid capacity.
We hope to see you there, in person or online.
