Inspired by the War on Waste? Come join us on a FREE kayaking adventure and help take care of Sydney Harbour!
Greater Sydney Landcare Network is running a series of events taking small crews of volunteers to beaches around Sydney Harbour to clean up the plastic that threatens our marine ecosystems.
Meet at Chowder Bay for this first event. From there we will paddle to Bradley’s Head visiting beaches and picking up litter along the way.
What will I need for the day?
Kayaks and guides will be provided by Land’s Edge. They ask that you bring the following:
100% waterproof jacket with a tear resistant with a hood
Water bottle, must be able to carry a minimum of 2 litres
Sun hat, a broad brimmed hat is preferred
Swimwear OR clothing suitable for water activities
Closed-toe and secure water shoes
Change of clothing
Day bag (20-30L capacity). Bags will be carried on the outside of kayaks and will get damp/wet. It is recommend to line the inside of bags with a sturdy plastic garbage bag to assist in waterproofing. Dry bags are a great alternative.
Personal medications such as ventolin inhalers, allergy medications, etc
RSVP essential for all events as places are limited. All training and tools are provided, as well as lunch and/or morning tea. Please RSVP by 23rd October, 2017 via Eventbrite to attend.
