Walk and talk of restored woodland at Wivenhoe, Cobbitty

August 27 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Come along and join other local landholders for a guided walk through the beautiful restored woodland area on Wivenhoe, Cobbitty

This event is specifically for local landholders to have a guided walk through the beautiful grounds of Wivenhoe, which contains a large parcel of Cumberland Plain Woodland.

On the walk we will see areas that were once weed infested and are now regenerating with the help of bush regeneration principles.

We will also be shown local plant species that are linked with the Cumberland Plain Woodland.

Participants will also be able to enjoy a complimentary lunch and network with others.

After lunch, participants who would like to learn about simple bush regeneration techniques will be guided through some of them, including cut and paint, scrape and paint and digging out weeds.

The day will also include the following talks:

Land for Wildlife will be discussed on the day, for people interested in managing their land to benefit wildlife.

Other forms of private land conservation will also be discussed, including the Biodiversity Conservation Trust’s Wildlife Refuge and Voluntary Conservation Agreements.

Representative/s from Camden Council will be at the event to talk about how they may be able to support local landholders interested in carrying out bush regeneration on their land.

Participants will need to wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and be prepared for rain. Sturdy shoes will also be required for the walk.

RSVP is essential via Eventbrite link.
