GSLN attends the Parlimentary Friends of Landcare ‘Trees in the House’

Committee members Bev, Glenda, Nicola and LLC Clare attended the Parliamentary Friends of Landcare (PFL) ‘Trees in the House’, celebrating the yearly achievements of the NSW Landcare community.

PFoL welcomed MPs from all political parties (including Chair and MC of PFL The Hon. Kevin Anderson), the NSW Commissioner of Natural Resources Dr John Keniry, executives within the Landcare NSW committee and Landcare coordinators from across NSW.

The evening also celebrated the leadership and dedication of outgoing chair Rob Dulhunty, and welcomed incoming chair Steph Cameron.

It was an excellent opportunity to network with other individuals – people both helping to put ‘boots on the ground’ and working behind the scenes, and seeing the political support of Landcare that transgresses political divides. Hearing the diverse work of Landcare was inspiring, from local Landcaring communities on North Coast NSW coming together to save 15 Ha of tropical rainforest across 10 properties between 130 people, to womens’ evenings and drought workshops to support drought-affected farmers and their families.
