Greater Sydney EECs

Environmental Education Centres (EECs) are located across Greater Sydney supporting Department of Education and Communities schools. They provide various programs to visiting school groups depending on the unique features of their location. Programs offered are linked to NSW syllabus documents and stage groups. Pre- and post-excursion materials are provided.

The teachers from the Centres can also work in schools to support environmental programs there. Some Environmental Education Centres also provide professional learning activities for teachers. More information about EECs in NSW can be found on the Office of Environment & Heritage website.

Botany Bay EEC – Located  in the Visitor Centre of Kamay/Botany Bay national Park at Kurnell.

Brewongle EEC – The centre supports schools with curriculum implementation across a range of key learning areas. They are located in the forest above the rich Hawkesbury River valley at Sackville North about 25 minutes from Windsor.

Camden Park EEC – Located on a 1600ha grazing property and including historic Belgenny Farm.

Field of Mars EEC – Located in the largest bushland reserve in the Ryde Municipality.

Georges River EEC – Located at Chipping Norton alongside the Georges River.

Gibberagong EEC – Gibberagong EEC is a Department of Education and Training School located in the picturesque area of Bobbin Head in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park offering school excursions, school incursions and overnight programs.

Long Neck Lagoon EEC – Located in Scheyville National Park north of Windsor.

Observatory Hill EEC – Located on historic Observatory Hill in Sydney.

Penrith Lakes EEC – Located on Old Castlereagh Road, Cranebrook, part of the Penrith Lakes Scheme.

Royal National Park EEC – Located in the Royal National Park at Audley Heights.

Taronga Zoo Education Centre – Located at Taronga Zoo in North Sydney.

Wooglemai EEC – Wooglemai EEC is located on the eastern edge of Nattai National Park which is a part of the World Heritage Listed Greater Blue Mountains National Park. Wooglemai is located on Sheehys Creek Road (just off Barkers Lodge Road), approximately 7 kilometres south of the township of Oakdale.
