Over 1,000 New Trees Planted in Just a Few Hours

Esteban Zepeda, Natural Resources Manager for Creating Canopies, said: “We had another perfect sunny day for planting at Rocket Parade Reserve. We had a great turnout with 16 enthusiastic volunteers doing a great job, planting 1,200 plants in record time.”

“These trees and shrubs will help increase the mid storey layer of native vegetation in the reserve. This is especially important for small birds looking for a safe haven around The Ponds. It will also add some beautiful white, yellow and purple colours front and centre around the reserve as the plants mature and flower throughout the year.”

Katrina Brown, Senior Bushland Officer at Blacktown City Council, was very happy with the results. In her words: “The plantings look excellent.” Great job all and thanks for your efforts.
